FOREST CARE

Young forest care status_miskas_pirkimas_pardavimas.jpg

As parents from the very early age take care of their children, the same do foresters - they protect, cultivate and nurse the young forests. Just planted trees require a lot of care and attention. Foresters and their helpers must weed weeds, vaccinate and fence trees, paint trunks for the forest inhabitants loose their willingness to try trunks. During the whole nursery growing up process a proper care is needed: current fellings, lightening works for the trees would get enough space, light and nutrients.

Forest road maintenance

Usually forest owners, who normally are not natural persons but the forest enterprises, are responsible for forest road maintenance. They carry out and supervise the use of these roads, organize maintenance. However, the real forest owners are also responsible for the forest road maintenance. Forest Act states that for the forest road, which is passing through the forests of several owners, maintenance are responsible the owners or the users of these forests. Road owners have the right to limit or stop the traffic or close the road due to the traffic accident, natural disaster or in case of very hot weather.

Garbage collection   mediena_miskas_rastai.jpg

Garbage collection campaigns are being permanently organized but only true nature lovers participate in such campaigns. Very often when we drop a piece of paper, a can, or any other litter we do not even realize about the damage we cause. Paper waste left in environment rotten not over one year but within much longer time. Cans remain in nature for several decades, tin and glass exist for centuries in Lithuanian forests if no one collects them. All these data mean nothing when compared with the existence of a plastic bottle which is almost eternal. However, the hope still remains that peoples' wish to enter into clean, unpolluted forests will emerge very soon. So let's think twice before throwing litter just on our own ways.
